Heroics of the Week:
Brad Miller (Melbourne)
After being dropped earlier in the season for poor form, the Demons Brad Miller returned to the line-up in Round 9 for their crucial match against Port Adelaide in Darwin and had an immediate impact. Miller kicked 5.0 from 8 kicks and 11 disposals and 5 marks for the game.
In a tense final quarter, the Demons had led at 3 quarter time by 33 points. But, the Demons withstood a stunning comeback from the Power, as the Power kicked 8.4 to 3.2. They hit the lead with only a few minutes left and lead by as much as 7 points, but the Demons fought back themselves and won the game by 1 point in a high scoring game.
With this performance, I hope for Miller's sake that he lives up to this games performance and takes his game to another level. Miller has been on the Demons list since 2002 and at 27 years of age, this year is now or never for the tall-forward and a tall-forward is something the Demons desperately need, if they are to make the finals in 2009.
