Heroics of the Week:
Luke McGuane (Richmond)
The Richmond Tigers Football Club broke through for their 1st win of the 2010 AFL season this week over a very disappointing Port Adelaide in Adelaide. It was set up in the 1st current, kicking against the breeze and the Tigers booted 3.4 to 2.3 and a couple of brave acts by Luke McGuane.
In a marking contest, Luke McGuane after earlier ran into the goal post saving a goal for the Tigers and hurt his knee in the process, crashed into the pack after a mark, and despite not taking the mark, it managed to hurt the Power, as Brett Ebert was stretchered off the ground with a concussion after the clash. It was a brave effort and despite being hurt, he didnt had to do it. The loss of Ebert unbalanced the Power, as they also lost Cameron Hitchcock and Steven Salopek during the game.
However, it was a brave effort from McGuane and from the Tigers to set their 1st win away from home. I believe, this win may not be the only win for the Tigers this week, as they have a very winnable home game against the Eagles. Could this win, spark them into form? Time can only tell.
